The Girl Who Married The Ocean

She filled her heart With love and kindness

Sought to see all there was to see

There was no tempest

Torrent

Squall or storm

That could keep her from the sea

The girl who married the ocean

Poisedon’s prize

She stole the Brightest blue of skies

And held it in her eyes

With the waves she traveled, Crashing

Bringing and taking sand

For Everything she took, She gave

But she could never give her hand

For there was one who had her heart already

And one love was all that she could bear to stand

The girl who married the ocean

Poisedon’s prize

She stole the Brightest blue of skies

And held it in her eyes

Cities, coastal

Boats and boards

Uncaged by obligation,

Unshackled by wires or cords

Her eyes sought horizons

Dawn or dusk

The promise of each new days freedom

Is the only promise she could trust

The girl who married the ocean

Poisedon’s prize

She stole the Brightest blue of skies

And held it in her eyes

She sails new seas

Ever onward

Seeking uncharted shores

She gives all of herself to everyone

And hopes that no man asks her for more

Because she’s married to the ocean

She is Poisedon’s prize

The depth of blue that come with freedom

Is only rivaled by her eyes
